The original Enterprise Fish Company first opened it’s doors in the beautiful coastal town of Santa Barbara in 1977.
Since opening, we have prided ourselves in offering the freshest and finest seafood around at an amazing value. Over our 30+ years of operation, the Enterprise Fish Co. has seen many changes and looks but nothing more dramatic than the original retrofit from the commercial laundry that once existed here.
Rightfully named after
our predecessor, the Enterprise Laundry served as the premier laundry for all of the coastal hotels and restaurants in the
Some of the original laundry employees still visit us today for lunch and tell us stories of how they use to fold sheets here when they were “youngsters”.
That is the one thing that sets us apart from the competition in the area, our locals and our following.
Believe us, “they’re loyal!”. We are located only two short blocks from the pier and about 100 feet from the local Amtrak depot making it very convenient to step off the train and into our dining room for an amazing taste of Santa Barbara seafood! So, come in and get a taste of our amazing service and quality food, you won’t leave disappointed!.
Looking for a place to eat off of the freeway can be tricky, especially if you don’t have access to GPS or smartphone. Luckily for me, I had a GPS, which then led me to this place after I typed in “seafood.”
In fact, that action led me to one of the best seafood restaurants in Santa Barbara. I have been here several times, and every time I went the food was consistently fresh and tasty no matter what I ordered. The entrees that I usually get here are the calamari, Manhattan chowder (which is tomato-based), mixed seafood grill, and/or seafood croquette (which is like a crab cake). The fish is also pretty good as well (like the salmon in Coca-cola glaze or mahi-mahi), but it is somewhat pricey. However, it is worth every cent because it is fresh (and I noticed that every time I come here, it does get crowded quickly). Also, the atmosphere of the restaurant has a rustic but modern feel, complete with a full bar and aquarium (don’t worry, it’s the kind where the fish inside it is too small to eat). The service is prompt and friendly too.
My only complaint is that the parking near here, while there is plenty of it, can be hard to access if you’re not from the area. There’s one lot where you might have to pay (it’s right next to an Amtrak station), and there’s a free (but time-limited) lot as well.
So, if you are looking for a place to eat some great, fresh seafood, go to Enterprise Fish Co. However, if your wallet feels pinched by high prices there, go during lunch or happy hour instead.
